\ \ [17] Unanimous means etymologically ‘of a single mind’, hence ‘sharing the same opinion’. It comes from Latin ūnanimusof one mind’, a compound adjective formed from ūnusone’ and animusmind, spirit’ (a relative of English animal, animate, etc).
